I appreciate that but the only things I really use Vista for is watching Skyplayer and 4OD and playing the odd game.

Skyplayer requires .net to run and the games I wanted to play weren't supported so I came to the conclusion in my last post.

It's a shame because it would be a great alternative.

Did you install internet explorer in Crossover and then go to the 4OD site using that?
If so that's a real pain in the bum.

I used Internet Explorer 6, went on there, and passed everything but the OS requirements. :mad:

Crossover is rubbish. Tried to install the latest Windows Messenger 8, and it did nothing.

No, all the original licences have now expired and you had to pay to continue support/upgrade.

I disagree. The problem was that people tried to use it instead of bootcamp or a VM and that's not what it was designed for. It worked with the software it was written for and it worked well. It allowed one to run certain packages by emulating the response the software expected. I'd already bought it and I used it for around a year until the software I was using it for had a semi-decent Mac version which worked better than the Windows one under Crossover.

Fair point, I should re-phrase that post.

It couldn't do what I wanted it to do. Maybe my expectations were too high or I wasn't well informed. Either way I uninstalled it fairly quickly.
