Just had a call and my new speakers have arrived for collection

After much deliberation and chats with you guys I came across these for a fantastic price. They seem to get great reviews and were half the price of the Q acoustics 1010i set I was going to get.

Seems a lot of speaker for the money. Having seen them in the flesh to I liked the look of them suprisingly.

Anyway I am in need of a SUB and am looking at a BK XLS200 MK2 Subwoofer 275W RMS 10"

so you did go for the tannoys in the end?! sounds like you got a bargain too ! Glad you didn't go for the q accoustics, i auditioned those and thought they were awefull!

That is a bargain mate. Fantastic price.

Oh, and i can safely say the Yamaha is pretty tasty. I'm a 861SE owner (EXACTLY the same bar HD bitstreaming (which the PS3 cant do anyway, my only bluray source!)) and its a cracker, lots of power and sounds fantastic in movies.

If your spending that much on an AMP though, consider its more musical and better counterpart the RX-V1800, can get some real bargains on this at the moment.

Whatever Yamaha you go for (be it the 863 or the 1800) it will be a good match for the Tannoys. & go for the XLS 300 (a no brainer for the price)

My old man has those Tannoys with a Denon amp, sounds awesome.

Finding it hard to find either in stock.

The 863 comes in stock in Jan if I can get one for £499 then I'll be happy.

I've got very similar system, except I'm using older models of the speakers

I'm running

Tannoy MX4; fronts
2 x Tannoy MXC;f ront & rear centre
Tannoy M2.5; rears

Running through a Denon 2802 atm, but may splash out on a 2nd hand Onkyo SR-875

For the money I paid it sounds very good indeed, the floor standers can put out a surprising amount of bass

The Monolith standard is just to big!

Looks a great sub the XLS 300 though ....

I think you'll need to look at AV forums sub section for opinions on the monolith TBH.

They look very tasty, would love to hear them in comparison to my set. Atm Im using Quad-Lites and sub, but am using Mission 751s as fronts for better mid clarity, driven by a RX-V1800, would love to compare the sound

May try the auto setup on the Yammy soon just see what that changes the settings to from what Im on at the moment, as a consideration point. Luckily the Quads are all in good condition bar slight scratches on the underside to the laquer which is to be expected, so if I ever find a good replacement set I can sell the Quads

The Q-Acoustics were one of my older sets underconsideration but went for the Quads as they were such a good price from the original!

Liked the look of the BK subs, but heard the Quad L-ite set sub ison par with the BK200, so as Im cash strapped I likely wont change that.

The guys from the shop just packed the car with the speakers and my dad got them for
