Thought i'd start a new thread for this since its outgrown the original.

Basic premise is to watercool my P180 mini... Owners of this case will realise that its probably not the easiest of tasks! Especially since its going to be self contained.

I've already got a 7" lcd modded into the front panel, so there are limitations imposed on this build from the start. I've also a windowed door that will feature at some point.

Initial problem is the radiator... There is no space internally for a 120.2 or larger, and i'm going to need at least that to cool a e8500 and 4870 (and I7 in the future). So I elected to attempt a car heater matrix as the main rad.

This was going to be mounted in the top with the big boy above and 2 120mm fans below... However there is a premium for space so i've dropped the big boy for the time being (option is there to mod it back in later).

The heater matrix will be held in by a piece of perspex that will be mounted to the rear fan mount to provide support.

As you can see i've lost both 3.25 bays and the top 5.25 bay. In the 2 bottom 5.25 bays i'll have 2 laptop optical drives and a single hdd... I'm planning to build a perspex 3.25 mount so I can attach 2 hdd's to the front fan as shown.

That needs some more thought but I think the concept is sound.

Watercooling spec is tbd.. I've an lga775 Danger Den block that I may use, although i'm going to try to get hold of some XSPC gear. Pump is an aquastream XT Ultra, and it will serve as fan controller for the 2 heater matrix fans. Should fit as shown here.

Res is tbd as i'm very limited to mounting positions... Rather not use a fill port if I can fit a res in.

Thoughts and comments....

Looks good....make sure to use plenty of anti-corrosion additives though as that heater core is aluminum.

Been waiting to see some form of car parts used to watercool a pc, will keep my eye on this thread. Good luck and got to say I'm a big fan of fitting w/c into small cases, seems more enjoyable having to mod a case to make it work. Found this out the hardware with my u2-ufo when I managed to fit all my watercooling with no problems and in a matter of minutes.

Looking at the construction, it should perform well.. As long as I can get airflow through it...

The fins are very dense...

Quick update as i've had very little time to spend on the project recently... Thought i'd give it a blast this morning and i've got the window cut out done. Just need to remove some plastic from the inside so I can mount the plexi for the window.

and how it will look in the case

Might get the plexi in tomorrow

Looking good mate, woot update :p

Personally i think having the window so it only shows the motherboard area would look better but im interested to see how this will turn out.

Are you getting rid of the hard drive bay seperator thing?

Reckon i'll be keeping that as i'm planning on having the pump sitting on there... Then i'll mount an HDD behind the front fan...

The window will show motherboard/pump area, wont show the PSU or bottom 5.25 bays.

Its 2 laptop DVD-RW SATA drives... works excellently and takes up very little space...

Just tried to take the plastic off the metal sheet on the side panel... Going to be a very long process unless I can find a good way of seperating alu and plastic that are glued together.
