Hi,

As a matter of interest, if I installed Vista on a SSD drive (Vertex 120) would I be able to add a second Vertex in the future and Raid without having to reinstall Vista.

I really would not want the hassle of reinstalling all my Apps and configuration a second time. Would Ghosting (ImageX...etc) work flawlessly?

Adding 2nd SSD = no
RAIDing it = Yes. You may be able to image your old installation, set up the RAID and then image back on again, but just adding a RAID to an existing disk without wiping it is impossible.

I think the general consensus is that imaging the install might also not be a good idea. You can always try imaging it, if it works, then your fine. But the best way is to always re install from new.

That is a shame. Not being able to image the install would mean another labourious job in reinstalling apps etc. Something I do not want to do.

Splash out on two Vertex's at the moment is not an option - too expensive. I was planning on going down the i7 route but may delay for another month or so.

Hmmm...

Ive just gone through the install everything after getting another 150gb and moving to Raid 0. It has actually taken me a whole week to get back to where I was. But at least now I have all the latest version of my apps installed and it is clean and fresh.
