i've recently purchased a D0 stepping CPU.

Now i need some advise with clocking this on an Asus P6T Deluxe V2.
Are there additional settings i need to increse etc to make things run better?

I've currently got it running at 4.2ghz @ 1.32v on stock cooler and ram @ 1.64v @ 1600mhz

any advice would be appreciated

nice overclock...funnily enough I am getting the exact same motherboard you have...I am glad I made that choice cos I was going to get the P6T SE but then thought well I have the money so why not splash out that little extra...and seeing as u been able to get 4.2GHz on stock cooler...I wonder what can be achieved with the Noctua SE1366...lol... :D and yes those temps are very good...

i've got a TRUE 120 Black arriving tomorrow with two Xigmatek fans to help cool it aswell so that'll help drop temps down.

i've not run OCCT or Prime yet as i'm only on stock cooler so will drop it down to stock for now.

nice one mate...when I get my Core i7 set...I will take pics and might even do a video and post on youtube :D

Can we see a screen of prime? With temps?

wont know anything from current overclock until i can run with a TRUE installed. Will it wont it. how high how low. Hopefully we'll find out tomorrow

can someone tell me the best temp software to use please.

I've currently got realtemp and coretemp but both are showing different temps.
realtemp: 34, 31, 34, 31
coretemp: 43, 41, 43, 41

which one do i believe?

also coretemp isn't showing my VID. How do i get to know this?

on stock cpuz has my core voltage @ 1.208v

Coretemp doesn't show my VID either.

What version of Realtemp are you running? I believe 1 version reads a bit low with i7.

For me at 3.9Ghz/1.28v with C0 i7 there's no difference in temp between realtemp or coretemp (idle & load) so I'm guessing it's the D0 microcode throwing one of them off a bit. I'm tempted to trust coretemp at those fantastic realtemp figures though, bit too good to be true ;)

We can hope though!

cheers for the reply. Coretemp it is then.
Shame really as those realtemp figures are ace

Me too :p

Magic what's the vdrop and vdroop like on the Asus board? What do you have the vcore actually set to in the bios and what's it read under load?
