WD caviar black 500GB Raid 0 Benchmarks

Just thought i would post these results up for anyone interested in the above setup.

The drives are in this week only for £45.99 each and I think performance to cost ratio is not half bad

Its my first raid set up and it was easy as pie.

EDIT: just to add that indexing was left on for this screenie and its more stable with less fluctuaton over the graph with indexing off. (will try get a screenie up later)

Thanks, this is the likely route i will take now the cruicial SSD drives have rocketed in price!

possibly ... Saying that my motherboard is getting on a little bit now (striker 2 formula) but for the price its certainly not bad .... better then my stand alone 320gb WD i had before anyway ...

I've heard somewhere you had to install something on drives before you set the raid up, is that true or do you just set it straight up from bios once you've connected everything?

I set my Raid up before installing anything on them iirc
