Bmw e46 m3

£15,000 is a good budget for one.

In July £14,950 bought me:

-Silver Grey Coupe
-Red Leather interior
-SMG
-16:9 DVD navigation with TV
-CD Changer and Intravee
-HK stereo
-19" wheels
-9 months of BMW warranty
-Electric fold up mirrors
-53 plate (facelift with LED rear lights)
-56,000 miles.

Note that things like Xenons and Electric adjustable seats are standard.

I can post some pics up later, but I'm sure everyone's fed up with it now :p

Get a 330d instead, it has more torque :) This makes it faster than an M3 on the Motorway when in 5th. Which is of course when you REALLY need performance.

Dont listen to this joker, he really drives an old 318

Fabulous cars

I didn't find mine that expensive to run, tyres and brakes are pricey but servicing not too bad in long run

over 50k miles you would have 2 oil services @ £200 , an Insp 1 at £550 and an Insp 2 at £675 ish

rear springs fail often

Satnav seems important for resale

check the 1200 mile running in service was on time, trade will often not touch them if it wasn't

and don't believe folks that say that SMG is unreliable, it isn't

oh and with the 19 inch wheels if they have ever been damaged or refurbed they will never be right again

Sorry Rotty - But if you took it to a BMW Main Dealer - Inspection 1 is more like £900ish and Inspection II is more like £1100ish

...and that's if they don't find any other bits wrongs :(

I've had mine for 6 months of ownership and its been great, would definitely go ahead with buying one. It still puts a smile on my face each time I drive the car :)

In terms of issues with the car I've had to replace a coil pack but thats's relatively minor.

Good luck with your search, for £15,000 you should be able to get a nice example.

yeah, insp 1 and 2 are £600 / £700 ish in my experience also. thats london prices as well, just need to shop around a bit.

exactly, they have more low down torque also so makes starting on inclines easier to... which is what matters

The prices I listed ar the ones I paid at main dealers

Insp 1 at Sytner Sheffield

Insp 2 at Stratstone Chesterfield

You don't pay the first price they ask for

/just checked the actual prices

the Insp 1 was £570
Insp 2 £629

by supplying the oil the oil service was £88

Last Insp II I had on an M3 was £700 IIRC, main dealer with labour rates comparable to London, or so I'm told.
