Was on g2play and noticed that they have a borderlands cd key for sale (bought from them before and they were good). I heard before the game was released that borderlands was't going to have a cd key (apart from steam version but it says no steam activation). It would be easier for me just to buy a copy for me and then buy a cd key for each of my friends from g2play but i'm not sure how that would work if the game doesn't even use a cd key :S

Maybe it gives you a link to download the game from the 2K website or something? Has anybody bought it from g2play and can tell me what happens?

Why not buy the game on Steam as a gift for your friends ?

Is this site any good? They have the MW2 Steam key for £26. However, does this mean that if i bought it from here, i won't be able to play until the 12th as opposed to the 10th for retail copies?

I bought L4d of there a few weeks ago £11 something, they just send you the code then you activate it via steam( if its a steam one) i had no hassles with them.

MW2 does say steam so its just a matter of activating it through steam, i would imagine you can't play it until its released on steam mind.

steam is £30, it's only £13 on g2play :)

I can get a retail for £25 and then if i could buy from g2play for my friends it would work out much cheaper overall. As I have said above tho i'm not sure how this would work if borderlands does not have a cd key and it states it cannot be activated on steam.

Borderlands doesn't have a CD key...

Was tempted to buy the COD4 key on there. However, it is not compatible with steam. how can i download and install the game then?

Cheers

you would need to borrow a copy from a friend or download it illegally (could be considered legal depending on your view). If you email activision and provide your key they might send you a download link, although i cannot confirm that.

OK cheers mate, will give it a go.

How long does it usually take them to email the Key? is it done automatically or does someone need to authorise it?

As far as i know the retail boxed copy does not have a cd key, which leads me to believe that you have to activate the key somewhere but not on steam as it says no steam.

Thanks,
Nick

Slightly unsure if i want to buy one from them now. Is it just me or does the person emailing you back sound very ignorant?

I've had similar emails from them before. Very blunt/direct. Could be a culture thing as english clearly isn't their first language.

That said, all keys I've bought from there have worked fine...

Contacted them earlier asking whether the key the supply will unlock on the 10th (retail) or 12th(steam):

Hi, i am ready to purchase the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 CD key from yourselves. However, i have a few questions. When will i be able to play this game? It seems that retail boxed games can be unlocked on the 10th. However, Steam games can only be unlocked on the 12th. Which is it for the version you are selling? Could you also guarantee this? Therefore, if i buy the key from yourselves and it doesn't unlock on the 10th, i can get a full refund? Regards Jack

Their reply (copied and pasted straight from email)
