Any ideas as on how to resolve the following?

I have my Sapphire 5970 OC with the sapphire active diaplayport adapter as sold by OcUK (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-223-SP&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1577). I have 3 of these monitors - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-071-VS&groupid=17&catid=949&subcat=

It is fine in windows and some games (crysis, mw2, stalker) in Eyefinity whereas in others it is not (dirt2, wolfenstein) - the screen that is attached to the DP adapter flickers between full screen & something that is about 10% less all round than full screen like it can't make its mind up what it should be! It's almost like it is flipping between 2 resolutions .. timing/refresh issue maybe???

This happens on stock settings and I have no flickering issues with a single monitor.

I'm having this problem

Using a HD 5870 and the Sapphire Active Adapter

I'm using the correct monitor drivers..

I have found that If i unplug the USB to the Sapphire Active Adapter and plug it into another USB slot it fixes the problem for 30 minutes or so and then it starts doing it again randomly.

Not sure what to do know...

I'm confused now

Well ATI released this BIOS Update for the HD 5870 http://techpowerup.com/vgabios/61848/ATI.HD5870.1024.091112.html

This should fix the flickering when using Eyefintiy

Ive also read that flashing a graphics card can void the warranty on the card.

I purchased the card from OCUK just 2 weeks ago.

I've never flashed a graphics card or a mobo and don't feel comfortable doing it, but it would seem that this is the only way that im going to get my 3rd monitor using the new Sapphire Active Displayport from flickering on and off all the time.

Ive been reading this tutorial on how to do it, and it looks like it could be a right nightmare for me !! >> http://www.techpowerup.com/articles//overclocking/vidcard/34/1

Any suggestions please?

Wonder if OCUK would flash it for me if I ask them nicely :D

I contacted Sapphire to ask them if it would viod my warranty

In less than 24hrs I got this response

Please download the atiflash tool that only can use under pure dos mode here -

http://www1.sapphiretech.com/global/lib_files/40.zip

Then check the SOP step1 to step7 to make a bootable USB stick that can help to boot into pure dos mode -

http://www1.sapphiretech.com/global/lib_files/103.zip

Please help to update this latest VBIOS here at first - http://www1.sapphiretech.com/global/lib_files/120.zip

After booting into pure dos mode , please type below command after prompt

atiflash –p 0 s3c00101.104 –f

BTW , flashing the VBIOS from fficial side will not void the warranty.

Still doesn't really boost my confidence, im a noob and im bound to muck this up ! and ill have to RMA the card and be without a PC for weeks ! I can see it coming !

Wish me luck
