Hey guys,

Thanks to you guys for suggestions and comments on my other thread, but as quite a few of us Im sure we go around in circles considering allsorts until we settle on a plan!

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18123380

Any suggestions for which estate to go for with a budget of 10k-ish? Looking for one with low mileage to get me and my stuff around Europe for the next few years.

I have in mind an older Mazda TS2 Estate or Ford Mondeo perhaps?

Any other ideas?

Cheers fellas!

Welcome to OcUK. Obviously the right car for you is a Mercedes E55 AMG Estate. Perhaps you could consider a BMW 545i Touring? How about a Mondeo ST220? With a Supercharger Conversion?

Right, now we've got all the stupid performance rubbish you dont actually want out of the way we can crack on with some sensible suggestions.

How does a Mk4 Mondeo Estate grab you? Decent build, plenty of kit and great value.

Yep glad you did that, so we dont have to mention Mustangs and the like either :)

Cheers Jonny, not a car to get excited about but as far as I understand it the Mondeo is supposed to be a good motor aint it? There's always the V50, but lower mileage volvos eg the V50 and V70 seem to go for a little more than the 10K.

I've had a Mazda 6 TS2 saloon before, decent motor, would have an estate one of those if I could find a really tidy low mileage one of thosefor a fair price. I'll look at the accord too, cheers mate, appreciated.

Something LHD?

It's an interesting scenario here. Cars like big estates are actually worth MORE because they are so scarce, supply and demand; there is the demand for people like yourself - but often you will see people put them on autotrader for way below the book value because they just 'assume' no-one in the UK will be looking for a LHD car, hence you might find a bargain!

I don't think you can get a Mustang Estate ....pitty, I think the Mondeo is the obvious suggestion, Honda Accord, Mazda 6, Volkswagon Passat etc.
