Posted over at Neowin was a tool that allows you one click change the start button orb to a new one, I have downloaded it and found it to be quite nice, makes a change to the usual round orb too. There's loads of orbs out there to download but the tool comes with a 10pack sample.

I downloaded a 250 orb pack last night and only liked a few but settled with this:

The tool: http://www.thewindowsclub.com/windows-7-start-button-changer-released

250 Orbs pack: http://rapidshare.com/files/367392662/Windows_7_Start_Button_Changer___247_Orbs.rar (!!! IGNORE THE OLDER VERSION ORB CHANGER TOOL THAT IS IN THE EXTRACTED FOLDER, USE v2.0 LINKED ABOVE !!!)

Small tweaks and changes here and there to OSes and applications like this make daily computing nicer :)

I remember manually editing explorer on my old XP machine so the start button said 'Phil'. lol ! Will have to check this out tonight.

Do it!

I also have a logon screen changer if anyone is interested in that too?

I loathe the bright blue logon/lock screen backgrounds so made a custom minimalist one!

Don't use a logon screen as im the only one who use's my machine :) I did have a play with a similar program when I was running Vista but. It allowed you to have a logon screen with a sort of space type background. Very nice!

Windows 7 Start Button Changer, it even says the theme is selected but nothing actually changes on the superbar. Im using 64bit version of Windows 7 Professional

Run it as admin?

I assume your UAC is stopping it, forgot to mention this as I don't use UAC.
