A beta driver should be released on monday to fix stuttering in bfbc 2 and some other games.

Audio Drivers and 3D Drivers will be optional on install

Drivers 260.35 will contain the Gothic 1 and gothic 2 fixes but won't be in next week's beta set!

Just a quick update everyone. It looks as if the driver version that fixes this issue is going to be 260.35 which is based on a branch that is slightly newer than the upcoming beta driver that is slated for this Monday. The follow up driver will contain all of the fixes for Gothic 1 and Gothic 2.

Update 2

Sorry. I did not mean to ignore the Geforce GTX 260 users. I just did not fully complete my own testing with Geforce GTX 200 series cards so I did not want to comment too early. I only tested the Geforce GTX 280 but GPU usage was around 90-100% average with the new drivers.

:D

Thank god their are fixes, of course, we're all led to believe Nvidia drivers "just work" are far ahead of AMD and of course, fixes happen incredibly quickly.

Fixes for Gothic 1 and 2..........

Uber quick :p

I'm of course making a joke, because it looks like they simply forgot to add in previous fixes......... which again is something AMD get slated for mercilessly by 1-2 people, and Nvidia never ever do themselves.

Just for reference I've never jumped into a Nvidia driver thread to trash them before, however several people in this thread have done it to every possible ATi thread in the past few weeks, all claiming Nvidia drivers just work, never a problem, no issue and AMD drivers are crap, issues every single AMD user has, AMD being slow to fix problems, and the cream of the crop, Nvidia cards just run all games smoother..........

Then you have a thread with fixes for games that stutter on Nvidia, not even close to new games, especially as several of these users have complained several times about AMD's loading time issue with BC2, a problem with the game itself, and a fix AMD was first to introduce, a problem that effected Nvidia cards and the fact that AFTER it was supposed to have been fixed on the game side via a patch AMD left this fix out of the driver, and then refixed it a day later as the game fix wasn't working so AMD readded it.

Some users would have you believe forgetting to add this "fix" to a new driver was almost unforgiveable and certainly would never happen with Nvidia, and yet again, we see that Nvidia have done exactly that.

I don't care, I'm not calling Nvidia drivers crap, I'm calling them the SAME as AMD drivers, they have issues, people pretending otherwise are just talking rubbish.

However, personally I don't think stuttering in several games, at least one a major title, is a minor issue, the leaving out a fix that SHOULD have been long since fixed by game patches I couldn't care less about, stuff happens.
