Hey,

I was walking in town this morning and it suddenly dawned me 'what happens if my Christian God isn't real but say the Islamic or Hindu religions are right?'...

Can I join several religions? I want to hedge my bets so that I can sit next to which ever God is the real one.

Which religion do people recommend and why? I suppose I should join them all so I'm fully covered.

You'll just end up burning in hell if you pick them all.

Why not choose the one with the harshest penalties for blasphemy? That way when the others, who are a little more lenient, decide to bring down the wrath of errrr, their deity, you won't suffer as much.

erm just a question but what if there is no god ? Then you are royally screwed for worshipping a false god

Flawed, as many religions have an exclusivity clause. So if you find yourself with one winner within your portfolio you may not be able to claim your profit due to having a diversified portfolia which is against the exclusivity clause in the contract.

In short, you will burn in hell.

Urm, no gods are 'real'. They are just slightly different versions of narratives many people use to help make sense of their lives. I think you're asking the wrong question.

If there was no god who cares, they'll be no one to judge you.

Please join them all, I wanna see a photo of you practising all your beliefs :D

But wouldn't this be against that Race and Religion Act? (forget exact name), it must go against some sort of diversity legislation that our great multi-cultural society has worked hard to iron out.

The only trouble I can see with my plan is trying to be faithful to my new Pagan beliefs when Christmas is on at the same time :( If only there was a Sky Record feature for real life :/

Well being serious for one minute...if you was to become muslim then you wouldnt be able to join any other religion....its as simple as that and i imagine most other religions would say the same thing too.

But lol at the question....hedging your bets??...i like that.

If you ignore the abrahamic, monotheistic religions, then in most cases, yeah, because they aren't mutually exclusive in the way that the judeo-christian-islamic ones are. (Of course, the irony being the Judaism, Christianity and Islam all worship the same god anyway).

But wouldn't this contravene Religious discrimination laws?

Tbh i dont know but like Dolph just mentioned that if you decide to practise islam, judaism and christianity then you would be worshipping the same god lol...so it kinda defeats the purpose really...its only hindhu's and the buddhists that are different in their worship of god.
