Hardware Restrictions:

- Only Gigabyte based boards on sockets 775, 1156, 1155, 1366, AM2, AM2+, AM3.
- Any CPU is allowed.
- Memory used must not exceed 2133mhz CL8-8-8-24
- There are no restrictions on cooling method.
- Scores must be gained between May 5th and June 3rd.
- Scores must adhere to HWBot benchmark rules, be submitted and verified by HWBot, then posted in this thread with a screenshot and the HWBot URL. Nice comp, the big Z on the box doesnt give the chipset away at all ;)

Lol ;)

Just in case this hasn't been worked out..

A CPU at 1GHz overclocked to 2.2GHz sees a 100 + 120% Overclock.

A CPU at 2.66GHz overclocked to 4.2GHz sees a 100 + 58% Overclock.

The first gets the higher points and the same applies for the Underclock ;)

Does this apply just to the mhz speed? Or the timings as well?

Those are my ram timings at the moment, and I know you say exceed that, but the lower timings are generally faster, so I'm not sure if I can go under 8-8-8-24 in these rules or not.

Either way, a very interesting competition! Shame I'm just starting my exams! By the time I'm done the weather will be a few C hotter :(

Very nice contest idea - makes it more open to all the members of this forum who want to compete and not just those few who have golden CPU's. I like and I am certainly in.

One thing I would like confirmed. Can we use different hardware for each of the stages?

Say a AMD cpu for the lowest clock. An Intel for the highest clock and a third system for the 06 part.

This is correct. That way you have the facility to tweak what ever hardware you have to find the best to post your results.

I am sure there are many out there with old AM2 hardware or an old 775 board and celeron who could enter various stages along with their golden P67/X58 chips they may be fortunate enough to be running now.

It opens things up a lot more so maybe someone who needs a nice upgrade may actually get one rather than someone who has the money to buy the better hardware anyway. :)

Z68 for the win! ;)

Also, I had to chose between my board and the gigabyte one at Christmas, such a hard choice!

Good luck to all who enter :)

Yup, her fella lol.

Sadly it is true. My CPU max's out at 5724MHz I know he benched his CPU's at 5.744MHz over the weekend.

But I can beat his max overclock percentage easily with my 1136 set up. This contest is not about SandyBridge power. I doubt a single SB will be in the top five.
