Right quick back ground

Was trying to re install Win 7 on my little boys netbook. So using diskpart ran thought the guide here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/dd535816.aspx

Made sure everytime to select the usb stick 14gb everything fine. But noticed my 1tb drive just disappeared.

My first thought was diskpart had set the usb stick a drive letter that drive had used and confused it, so found it in disk management and gave it another drive letter, but its showing RAW and wants me to format.

Think I might cry, has years of downloads to that drive

Any ideas

Doing a google search for "data recovery after partitioning" comes up with some companies that may be able to help. It also lists some software that might resolve your problem.

I have never tried any of them so can't really say how well they perform.

Found Easeus Data recovery can do RAW.
