So I've started work on a new htpc based on the ASUS AT3IONT-I Deluxe . I bought all the bits a couple of months ago but work got busy so not much happened . A bit of time this afternoon so a bit of progress .

Sides and base of the case internals cut out . Holes for fitting standoffs , hdd and fan all done .

Bit of edge polishing to do

Full specs and component pictures to follow.

Working on the cover today ......

Cover cut out with grooves routed so that it can be bent .

Cover bent an a trial fit .

Ventilation holes next and fixing screws next

Just had a rough and ready trial run for the fan holes and mesh guard ......

Recess cut in the back .

Mesh glued in place .

Just got to do the real ones now

While waiting for my so called 15 min epoxy to set .....

I started work on the end panels .

Mdf blank held in postion with double sided tape .

Front panel marked out for the fixing screws .

Holes drilled and being tapped .

Front and back panels fitted .

Next ... cut out for the IO panel

As this htpc is going to be used with a crt tv for a while some sort of analogue out is needed .
So graphics card is next .... an unknown ATI card with s video out

Trial fit .

Fitted .

Next on the list .... support for the graphics card , I don't think the bits of mdf ballanced on the RAM will work as a long term solution

How will the graphics card run at that angle?
I assume you can get some sort of adaptor?

Nice build, would love to build my own case like this. Will you be streaming to this HTPC or is storage internal? Looking forward to seeing how this turns out.

I'll use it to stream from a server .... although there is room for 2 drives so I could have 1tb internal if I wanted

Support for the graphics card , made it adjustable .

Fitted the switch .

Getting tight in there , just the drive and fan to fit .

I've not had much time today but I made a bit of progess .

Fan cable cut to length and the fan fitted .

Drive fitted .

Switch cable cut to length and my first bit of braiding

I would have run the cable on the other side of the sata cable but it rested on the heat sink .... this didn't seem like a good idea .

PCIE riser cable in place , not the prettiest of things but it does the job.... sort of means you can see anything now :rolleyes:
