Hi,

How do I redirect files so they are saved onto my 1TB drive instead of my SSD

I have done it for documents, and it is the same process for videos, music and pictures

But how do I do it for program files (if that is possible)?

And how do I make it so the downloads folder is stored on the 1TB drive, so any .exe's/images I download from the internet go to the 1TB instead of the SSD

Thanks :D

Registry tweak, or just change the path in the installer from C: to D: (or whatever).

Change the settings in your browser.

If you've already installed something, and want to move it (I've done this after my lad has installed some chucking great big game on the SSD), copy it to the same place on the other drive, rename the original directory on the SSD, make a junction (google if needed) to the new location. Then when you've tested it, you can nuke the renamed directory on the SSD.

What SSD is it? For a modern one (last 2 generations), there really is no point in doing any of this stuff - your SSD will almost certainly outlast your HDD and you're losing performance by not utilising the SSD.

Except for space saving, which is why the OP wants to move stuff off it...

Thanks for all the replys, and sorry for my late reply, been very busy

I was told that after a while, a full Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit installation, and all the updates will begin to take up quite a lot of space.

So I wanted to just put things I regularly use on the SSD, like Google Chrome, Office, all the hardwares drivers, etc
