I love racing games but i wish they had some sort of realistic backend to them like the FM 'universe' as such.
So teams are organic and a career progresses year on year, some teams get a nice big sponsor and their car gets better... drivers move around, die, retire, comeback etc... some seasons teams pull out and new ones enter.. make it all organic so that things are different and you have goals and they can change as the AI adapts and develops their own teams.
Maybe have it so that all Championships in the game run alongside each other as well, so idk maybe you have WTCC, BTCC and DTM (just as examples as i dont know many racing series) and say Race Driver A wins in the DTM for 3 years, he goes to the BTCC... or vice versa, same with managers, team owners, sponsors.. tv deals to make the Championship more important.
I know it wont happen, but without that sort of structure I lose the appeal of racing against the AI as there is no life to it, you have to make up the stories in your head and hope that the AI at least plays along... ie rival drivers fighting for the title, team mates causing problems.... budgets coming into play rather than being able to trash car after car.
Im waffling but you get the jist of it, would be a purchase for me if this had that but I can only see it being single season shootouts.
