I don't know about anyone else but I'm a massive Jack reacher fan, a series of books by Lee Child.
Now he's got a film and paramount have so much faith in it, they've pushed it's release date up

I didn't even knew they where making it. So happy. I hope they don't wreck it. Like so many other book to films.

Anyone else really like the jack reacher series?

They're going with the "Reachers size is a metaphor for being an unstoppable force while Cruise's larger than life personality gives that same Unstoppable feel" crap.

I really liked the book and I'm sure the film will be fine but it's never going to a be a Reacher novel/film crossover for me so I'll just pretend it's nothing to do with the book

As for the Reilly books, how the hell they haven't been made into a movie yet defies belief, they read more like movies than novels!

hmmmm I wont judge yet, but I was really annoyed when Cruise got cast as Reacher. If he pulls it off, fair play. But I wont hold my breath!

I rate Cruise as a very good under-rated actor - I reckon he'll do it justice

Tom Cruise will ace Jack Reacher and next time you read a Jack Reacher book, it will be Cruise you picture in your head....

The same criticisms were thrown at him for not suitable, ridiculous casted and so on for playing Lestat in Vampire Diaries....., and he went on and totally defined the character.......equally Born on the Fourth of July, and Minority Report and not to mention Valkyrie.

Tom Cruise is probably the most underrated actor in Hollywood when it comes to acting ability.........he will make a great Reacher....mark my words.

I also see there is an Alex Cross movie out soon.......named Alex Cross (One Shot is now named Jack Reacher btw).....given the success of eponymous titles in the past..John Carter for example, what are the studios doing???? Are they trying to sabotage their openings?

I agree that Cruise is a great actor and very under-rated - but he will not make a great Reacher.

When you read the books you picture this big, fearsome creature - Cruise just does not fit that role at all.

The only two people I could have seen playing Reacher effectively were Dwayne Johnson (Except Reacher is white) and possibly Chris Hemsworth as he has the height for it.

I will cover my ears when Cruise tells anyone in this movie what his name is. I will probably see it with an open mind though, but IMO it isn't a Jack Reacher book/movie.

Both terrible actors, I'll take cruise and hope they work the camera angles to negate his height.

Its not just his height - he doesnt have the bulk.
