I'm also annoyed that this seemed to be on Harry's mind on Monday.. He obviously wants his swan song.
The FA can't upset Sky who are showing Man U at 16:00 or ITV who want to have the game in prime time. The FA can’t be seen upsetting the apple cart.
It would have been sensible having the semi-final at a reasonable time or on a day that would help us with our CL semi-final on Wednesday. But you’ll never get that from the FA as money from TV contracts is all they care about.

Yep but I would have thought it was more to do with the advertisers not wanting the audience watered down. If you were Ford, you'd be a bit miffed if you paid full rate advertising when potentially, the audience is halved, so I understand that. I just can't see why it wasn't a noon kick off. I think the team last night all but confirmed the inclusion of Downing and Carragher at the weekend but I really hope Kenny bucks the trend and goes with the better players for once rather than his favorites. Maxi/Bellamy over Downing and Agger over Carragher please.

I do think it's harsh that Maxi has had limited game time. He's a decent player and is the exact type of player we've been missing - someone who scores from midfield.

He's better than every single British player we've signed. He scores goals, he creates goals and he puts 100% in every game. Given the way he's been treated I'm surprised he hasn't kicked off. Must be soul destroying to see so many poor players ahead of him and know his goals and assist don't matter to the management. I'd happily give him a new contract and release Downing on a free in the summer.

I hope and expect that Agger and Skrtel will be at the back on Saturday. Carra not playing yesterday could simply be down to him not being able to start another game a few days after playing on Saturday rather than with this weekend in mind. As for Downing, I wouldn't be too concerned if he started. His personal form hasn't been too bad recently and as we saw in the CC Final, on a big pitch like Wembley's, his pace and width could be useful. He also tore Hibbert apart in the league game last month.
