Not wanting to have the GW2 thread nazis rage about me posting in there so I'll create a new thread for this :p ;)

Just wondering if anyone that had issues with CJ's CD Keys recently have started receiving spam? My PP address isn't used many places but shortly after using them I've started receiving both PP phising emails and also emails for game currency for random games.

My personal recomendation now is to stay away from CJ's CD Keys.

Meh I use a paypal with an email address that I don't use so it isn't a problem for me.

I get cheap steam keys from them, quickly, hassle-free so I love them.

Ive bought from them before with no probs. It was only for cheap keys but they came nice and quick.

Never really noticed the paypal spam thing, Ive been getting probably every type of spam you can think of, including paypal for years. Thank god for Cloudmark DesktopOne to filter out all the ****!

There prices are all over the place - £50 for Diablo 3 (battle.net is £45).

It looks really dodgy as well.

I don't think I'd trust them.

They have a fairly popular facebook page, and I believe they won some sort of business award by lloyds a few years back. I used them got BF3 and it went fine.

Avoid like the plague tech. Heard nothing but nightmare stories regarding their grey market importing of keys...

I know cjs owner presonally and I asked him
and he assures that this spam is not caused by us
and that all emails are treated with confidence and not given to third parties in accordance with our privacy policy http://www.cjs-cdkeys.com/pages/Policies.html

So basically you work there?

My paypal address has been spam free for years.
I have one problematic transaction with CJs (GW2 key, Anet states CC fraud as source) and now Im getting PP phising spam with my CORRECT details on and also random spam for in game currency.

This after being called a Liar and being told I wasn't getting a refund for the game (GW2) as I was just trying to steal a game from them!

Got my refund but if looks liek I've paid the price of having my personal details leaked to random RMT companies, Thanks CJ's! :):eek::confused::mad::rolleyes:

Not so much grey importing mate.
I bought a Retail EU Guidl Wars 2 code from them.
Anet state the code I have was:

A) A US Key
B) Bought from the official GW2 site using stolen CC
C) Now banned from Game

I had given CJ's the benefit of the doubt til then and now this ****storm of spam. If only I'd used a temp email box to my PP account for only CJ's I'd be able to PROVE they've leaked my details :(

Its the same story with several similiar cd key resellers of a similiar nature - most of them operate with good intentions but are none to discriminating when it comes to aquiring the keys in the first place and are easily taken advantage of. Which is why personally I never buy from these type of places even tho I don't think they are out to do anything malicious themselves - while a fair number of their keys are completely legit theres a moderate number of not so legal ones in the system.

That's one of the advantages of gmail. When I sign up for a website I'm not sure about using my gmail address, I add a + sign after the first part of the email but before the @ and add a description. So for CJ's keys, my email would be:
[email protected]

That still goes to [email protected] as normal, but you can see in email the +cjskeys part. This means that if you start getting spam from somewhere, they will include the + part and you can see exactly what website the spam originates from. Plus you can then automatically filter out any emails going to that address if they are getting through the spam filter.

I need to try that :D

Edit: not the signing up to cjskeys part, I would never touch them after reading all this. Just the trying out the +description ;)

I used them before and they were fine, but I did have a problem and now my account is banned. I think it was Deus Ex HR, they never gave me the key anyway I made a paypal dispute and I got an email from them saying they have refunded the money and they were reporting me for fraud, it was a lol moment.

The problem with that method is if you forget what you put after the + sign you can't login or do forgotten password! Tis OK for single one off events but bad for creating accounts you will need to use again.
