I'd like the nominate the following;

A.Cole
Evra
Clichy
Enrique
Baines
Assou-Ekotto
and once again I can't think of anyone else so add your own :)

Once again if a poll can be made :)

Yeah the RB's were clearly lacking any standout choices, I didn't vote either because there was nobody I felt comfortable going with. Bit more clear cut with the LB's fortunately.

Baines statistically outperforms every other left back in the Premiership.

His record of successful crosses, assists and goals is vastly superior to any other fullback in world football bar Dani Alves, and even he plays more as a right winger for Barcelona.

So he's good at attacking? Unfortunately the left backs listed aren't blessed with the ability to take corners, freekicks and penalties (not something a left back needs)

Cole by a fair distance, Enrique would be up there if he wasn't so good at demolishing our attacking player and went off the rails a bit defensively.

He'll get the recognition he deserves when he inevitably signs for Man Utd this summer and becomes England's first choice LB.

He wouldn't replace Cole unless he retires or gets a bad injury. Baines isn't that young anymore, he might just be shown up at Man U. Big fish an al that Everton ;)

We'll see. He's the best left back in the country as far as I'm concerned and he'll prove that.

I just don't see anything in Cole to warrant the hype. He's probably a slightly better defender than Baines, but Baines' attacking ability from open play is on another planet to Cole's, not to mention the additional threat you rightly mentioned from set pieces.

There was also a stat that this season Baines had the fewest players dribble past him that any other left back in the league.

The guy is a beast.

Still Cole though he is not as good as he was.

I'd say Cashley is still the best too. He finished the season stonger than he started it, from what I saw anyway.

I've always thought Baines is a decent left back and worthy understudy to Cole in the England squad.
