Poll: Best LB in the PL?

Either Cole or Clichy for me. Went for Cole.

Cole by a fair distance, Enrique would be up there if he wasn't so good at demolishing our attacking player and went off the rails a bit defensively.

Enrique has been completely rubbish defensively in the second half of the season(at least) he was massively over rated at Newcastle and 95% of that was down to Gutierez being just about the hardest working left winger in the league, Enrique left and Taylor, Santon and even Perch have looked as good, except the few games Guti didn't play and left back seemed to disappear, coincidence.... not a chance.


Anyway, Cole actually had a poor season all told, under AVB this was the first time I questioned if Cole was bothering anymore, he's had his moments in the past few years, but he's still been by and large excellent.

Under AVB the system sucked, Cole put in multiple pretty awful performances. Under RDM wow, in the past 2 months Cole has probably been the best he's ever been, defensively completely unmatched and truly brilliant.

As it stands this second Cole is the best LB in the league, and probably the world, over the season Cole probably sits behind Clichy and possibly Baines as well.

Has to be Cole, though he doesn't have much competition, especially as Evra has become considerably worse defensively.

Tbf Baines props up the whole of the everton defence. Here comes the usual argument of top 4 clubs' players being raved about more in the media when better players are overlooked because of the club they play for

They can't have actually watched us much over the last year or two because for a while now he's been ineffective going forward and positionally inept at the back.

Clichy had some awesome performances near the end of the season, though.

A healthy reminder of why I don't take your opinions on football seriously.

Cole is by some distance the best LB in the league at the moment and historically. A great player, shame he's a ****.

Much of it is up for debate (that's the point of this thread after all) but the rating Assou-Ekotto above Evra bit, that's laughable.

Evra should be between Clichy and Enrique IMO but otherwise I think his list is sound!
