Changing my build to a BitFenix Prodigy + Asus P8Z77-I Deluxe (and the rest of the stuff in my sig, hopefully).

I got the motherboard today:

According to Noctua my D14 will fit the motherboard, I'll have to make sure I get all the cables on the board before hand though as it is so small. Looking forward to having a mini ITX PC again. Especially taking it too and from Uni several times a year. I'm interested at how well this motherboard can overclock too, as the previous owner of my 2500K (ChrisGTL) got it to 5.486Ghz.

I may not end up building it in the Prodigy until August [it's not out until next month anyway] but thought I'd start a thread now and update as necessary.

Any questions about the board I'm happy to (try) and answer :cool:

Nice, are you ever gonna do a custom loop?
Also, which colour prodigy, I like the white one. I would get ITX, but not much expansion, wish the prodigy was M-ATX :)

Nah I don't think so. Maybe much later in life :)

I'm going to go black, I do like the look of the white one but it wouldn't really fit in with the rest of my stuff!

ITX is a bit limiting, but I've realised I'm only ever going to have one graphics card and things so it doesn't really mater

Yeah I can't wait to try it, as I've sold my motherboard I have at the moment, I'll be setting up this one in my 300R tomorrow hopefully so I can try it :)

EDIT: Hadn't actually checked... not sure the 300R supports mini ITX! Looks like I might have to swap for my family's Shinobi for a bit.

Right I've installed the motherboard into my 300R for now, having sold my old MSI one I've got to start using this one even though I don't have the BitFenix case yet. Looking forward to trying overclocking on here but that won't be today unfortunately :(

Not my neatest job, mainly as its only temporary. Honestly I thought it would be much more difficult than it was. The only things blocked by a big cooler are the SATA ports, USB2 headers and fan headers (and I only needed the SATA ports out of them) - so make sure you plug them in first. The power and front panel connectors are along the right edge so easy to get to. The front panel audio is underneath the front edge of the GPU, so plug that in early too.

The CPU socket placement on this board is really very good, the Noctua would fit facing either way with plenty of clearance above the addon board, and any boards in the PCIe slot.

This is where the Asrock Z77E-ITX falls down, as the socket is right next to the PCIe slot:

Anyway, so far I'm very pleased :) I must admit I really like ASUS' UEFI interface, I find it nice and easy to use.
