Higher-resolution contact photos

With Android 4.1, you can store contact photos that are as large as 720 x 720, making contacts even richer and more personal. Apps can store and retrieve contact photos at that size or use any other size needed. The maximum photo size supported on specific devices may vary, so apps should query the built-in contacts provider at run time to obtain the max size for the current device.

Why is the MZ getting it first along with the GN and NS? I wouldn't even like to imagine how long Sony will take to get this on the XS :(.
 
High res contacts at last!!! As long as Google Contacts doesn't re-size it on sync.

I am hoping that, with the PDK, Samsung will release it soon but probably not. There is no way they can get away with NOT releasing Jellybean on the S3 as it is their flagship device and still in it's launch phase IMHO.
 
There's some really good dev stuff in there like h/w decode api, larger notification widgets (although this was natural as the screen density increased) and the right to left text will allow them to expand more easily into new markets. While I don't expect Samsung to be in the ball for a month or two, it looks like a fairly decent release for a 0.1, hope apps start to make use of the new features ASAP.

S3 will get 4.1 without a doubt - S2 should too.

Unfortunately in a heavily *******ised version integrating touchwiz, no doubt. Which is a real shame. When Gingerbread was out it skinning ala Touchwiz was ok, sometimes an improvement, but I was really disappointed that the ICS releases for the S2 looked so much the same. Also the Touchwiz replacements for core apps like messaging, contacts, dialer; they were no longer better than the stock Android ones.
 
No big deal - takes 5 mins to flash the Domination theme. I actually like the added benefits of TW.

Edit- a lot of the stock ICS apps are on the market if you want them.

As I said in the other thread for me it isn't a big update like ICS and 2.2, not much that I am overly excited about :o :(. Although interested to see how much of a difference "butter" will make on the S/GS 3.


More excited about the new google app updates etc. tbh :p :o


Also curious to see when the other handsets will start to get this update i.e. X, GS 3 and S and if the GS 2 will even get the update (and if it does a good working version) [officially that is]. I am guessing 2+ months at the least.
