Ok people third week in and have to say once again another great turnout from everybody and a special mention to a couple of newbies! ots3go and Strang3r welcome along

Cheers also goes to Tican who only joined us last week but sadly missed this weeks and ended up stuck in work and couldn't get in on time, also a big get well soon goes out to Spuj1988 who sadly is unwell and can't enter this week

I bet Ace & Pie selected the dark Budvar because they thought the standard one would be more common. Unfortunately, the tactic didn't pay off. An awesome beer though (as is the standard one).

Two entries with low alcoholic beer, what on earth!?

Surprised not to see Staropramen, but I suppose that people would think it's too common.

I'm actually quite surprised to see most people drinking out of bottles rather than putting it into a glass. Personal preference I guess (though the snobs would probably argue a glass makes it better).

Anyone got anything good (or bad?!) to say about their beer? My one was bloody horrible, and I suspect a year or two out of date! Bought it from a brewpub in Prague a couple of years ago and it's been sitting on my shelf since. I've been needing an excuse to get rid of it! So sweet and syrupy. Eugh!

I have to take DcD to task though on he couldn't finish his beer, mate I worked for a while in northern Spain and had the pleasure of hitting a local hotel that served this on draught... I honestly found it simply gorgeous

But then free lunch and all that ....

Good taste jester, mine was rich with raisin notes. A little chocolate and coffee but not as heavy as I expected when pouring it.

I considered going for a Budvar alcohol free but the Co-Op are doing a special offer on the real stuff so would have been rude not to.

Tasting notes - best bottled Czech lager IMO.

Yeah I've enjoyed mine, very smooth taste, dark colour, with a red tinge to it, no head to it and pretty flat though.

Definitely getting the raisin smell from it.
