Samsung 840 Evo SSD

Hi Guys

Just ordered a 250gb Evo, do these come with the clone software?

Should be here tomorrow, what a difference it will make from my 5,400rpm drive :cool:

Got my eye on one of these to replace my 128gb M4 which has been fantastic but is a little on the small side.

Is it easy to clone my M4 and copy it to the new drive?

Looks like you can do it from any SSD to Samsung

I`ve got a 120GB and 250GB on the way. I shall be testing and reporting on findings. I suspect a small improvement over the 840 non-pros I`ve been installing.

There is no clone option in Samsung Magician, you have to install another Samsung app. I usually use Easeus Todo Backup, as it seems to do a decent job, and I also use it for making recovery discs.

Just cloning my new drive with the Samsung migration tool, 49 mins to go

Drive is as light as a feather compared to the 1tb standard drive I have at the moment

Mines stuck at the DPD depot so wont see it till tomorrow or even Monday

With the Samsung tool? About 45mins on a fresh W8 x64 install, was very very easy to do, I'm impressed at how straight forward it was

Hope yours is the same

Nah the old ssd was from a different mobo and after I got it to run yesterday with my new gear(updated drivers/os) i noticed a few....niggles i was not 100% happy with
got some of it loaded now,firefox and thunderbird with gmail account set up
Gonna leave it now and have a beer

Just waiting on the magician software 4.2 now for RAPID mode

this thing is fast fresh install win 7 just putting all me other stuff on now should got an SSD ages ago really pleased with it
