Official Kaveri A10 review thread

Graphics side of that A8 is superb - beats the 5800k at 45w!

7850k's iGP looks to be hitting bandwidth issues - not getting anything like the gain you would otherwise expect from its 512 GPU cores (384 on the A8-7600)

All the benchmarks are showing the CPU using its internal GPU. I want a benchmark that shows these new CPUs compared to the Haswells et all using a dedicated card like a GTX780, Im struggling to understand who the target market is for them

They're not really meant for pairing with a 780.

AMD's master plan is presumably to continue to evolve the APU and do away with bleeding edge CPU's/discrete GPU's in favour of Mantle.

Think these might make a very good entry level yet upgradeable Steambox. Assuming you can crossfire this with a 7750 the price/performance should be good and should fit in a low profile HTPC case.

Being APUs aye they're pretty darn laptop. My haswell-powered rMBP could benefit nicely from a bit more graphics poke and the option of discrete graphics is often not there. Not for everyone for sure, and they'll not rock the big form factor desktop world, but still have a point.

How's it anymore laptop than any other chip in the last few years that has an IGP?

Haswells may have an iGPU but it's not that great, hence my earlier response. Better iGPU is great for laptop users, almost totally irrelevant for big desktops. So a release thats mostly about iGPU is more relevant to laptops & general purpose computers. Which is what CAT said.

Edit: Possibly most general purpose computers don't need much graphics power to be fair, making that part questionable.

A8-7600 is to be priced at $119 according to Hexus, with the 7850k at $173.

That works out at £90 or so for the 7600, based on 7850k uk pricing.
