As some of you may know I've had to go about changing my TV Details of why and the respective trials and tribulations can be found here.

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18600408

That thread has run its course so the new TV seemed to me to warrant a new thread.

Anyway y new TV an LG 65LA965W 65" 4K set is to say the least massive, even though to be honest overall it is only 2.5 inches wider than the outgoing 60" plasma and even 3 inches shorter, but only due to a completely different stand system.

the obligatory box shot

loads of packaging

and after much figuring out how to I was going to lift it on my own, the TV on itself.

More to come after I've set up the cabling.

And before anyone decide to tell me what a mess the room is, yes I know I live here with the woman who makes it :o

Ok so first things first the picture is just amazing and that is without trying any 4k downloaded content yet, I've taken loads of pictures but they will look rubbish in comparison to the real thing.
The setup was a very easy and having used a Wii using the magic remote was fairly easy right off the bat, not really tried any of the smart features as of yet, but ill get to that latter. me and the wife had a quick look at the 3D on sky (first time for me to actually see some 3D) and I can honestly say it looked superb but I'm not sure that I would want to watch a whole movie, it's the extra glasses, it just doesn't feel right.

anyway some pics, more to come latter.

If you read the original thread that OP links to in his opening post - you will see that it was an insurance replacement.

Nice TV

May I ask what precautions you might be taking with regards to your wife?

Could there be hand-rails and such placed around for her?

Are you fixing the new tv in a way that it will not suffer the same fate as the old one?

Sorry to be a bore, nice tv etc.

Looks a bit big for the room?

My seating position is 4.5 meters away from the screen, which is ample for a screen of that size, anyway is it possible to have a screen too big :D

Anyway I was planning to take loads of pictures of the menus, interactive stuff etc. But this has been interrupted as there is an issue with the set.
I have my SkyHD box plugged in via HDMI to my Pioneer vsx923, this in turn passes through the signal to the TV. Tis is the exact same setup that I had with the previous LG60" plasma and the LG32" set that I used in the interim period between sets.

The problem is with the audio, if you watch a programme on freeview via the TV's tuner the audio is fine, but audio through the SkyHD box via the Pioneer is out of sync. now this normally is ok as it can be adjusted either by the SkyHD box or via the much more accurate setting in the Pioneer AVamp. The only thing is the delay is different for each channel, some requiring 5ms, some 10ms, but then some channels 10ms is too much and 5ms is not enough.

Now seeing as everything worked perfectly with the old set and the interim set, it has to be the new set that is the issue.

Any solutions or infact any ideas at all are welcome.

See if there's any sound enhancers of some form thats on and switch them off. Like HD speech or virtual surround of such…

Also, is this a fairly new model? I can't seem to see any reviews of it even from the well known sites.

You don't say whether the out of sync is audio before video or video before audio, as each would suggest whether the issue is audio processor (amp) or video processor (TV) related.

Sounds like the video processor in the TV has to do too much to be able to output in sync. Have a look in the menu to see if there is some sort of extra processing being done (video enhancements or upscaling), and turn them off one at a time to see if it helps. These things can induce delays and lag (a bit like input lag on PC monitors).

Ok just to clarify, I'm not using the TV for sound at all, well I wasn't until this issue occurred. The sky box goes via HDMI into the amp, then via HDMI to the TV. So all the sound processing is being done by the amp, at fist I assumed it must have been the TV that was disrupting the sync as it was the only piece of equipment that had been changed. But now it would seem that the amp/reciever has developed a fault, that is causing it to randomly change the delay of the audio, it can change even during a programme without changing anything.
So at the moment I am having to use the sound through the TV which is ok I suppose, just a little lacking after the lovely pioneer VSX923 and JBL speaker set.
