My new 4k TV

Had a very similar thing happen with my sky box when i got a new LG tv at xmas.

1) Skybox > Onkyo Amp > TV = Delay
2) Skybox > TV > Amp = No Delay

Switched over to using the 2nd setup and it has worked great since, the amp just gets the audio over ARC and it's happy.

I'd tried all different things even using an optical cable for the audio direct into the amp and it was still lagging behind or in front and every channel was different.

Ok this sounds interesting, so do you have HDMI from your Sky box to the TV then another HDMI from the TV ARC capable socket to your AMP ?
or have I misunderstood ?

Jumping in here...I've got a new Lg 2014 TV and have seen audio lag. Thought it was my setup. I have skybox straight to tv but sound fed by optical to amp. Doesn't happen all the time. Is there a audio delay thing in sky menu?

Yes there is.

press services, gotto settings, then sound, Digital Audio output delay is the bottom option. minimum delay is 20ms though
