AOC are making some truly fantastic kit at the moment, really looking forward to the G-Sync model for sure! :)

Good stuff, any news on when you might be getting the ROG Swift monitor in? :)

Had a meeting with Asus yesterday, the price will be crazy and the stock none existent to begin with, we will put live for pre-orders soon. Be quick as the entire UK first shipment is expected to be no more than 20 units. :(

Ah that sucks, oh well, cheers for info.

Might wait a couple of months then to see if price will be more reasonable and better availability.

That's a bit of a joke hey Gibbo? 20 units??

Well I guess they can only produce so many, bear in mind if the UK gets 20-30pc, Europe will be around 200-300pc as far bigger, far east and USA even more as they are bigger. So in the big scheme they have made a lot but nowhere near enough to meet demand.

Maybe the hold up is lack of G-Sync modules and not the actual monitor manufacturers themselves, but that's just a guess.

I was thinking of upgrading. I might wait awhile long then. Cheers for the reply:)

A description of G-sync on the product page would be helpful (maybe) although I am unclear how this differs from current tech:

G-SYNC
NVIDIA G-SYNC is groundbreaking new display technology that delivers the smoothest and fastest gaming experience ever. G-SYNC’s revolutionary performance is achieved by synchronizing display refresh rates to the GPU in your GeForce GTX-powered PC, eliminating screen tearing and minimizing display stutter and input lag. The result: scenes appear instantly, objects look sharper, and gameplay is super smooth, giving you a stunning visual experience and a serious competitive edge.

Isn't this the case without the g-sync too  Seems like a gimmick 95% of gamers won't notice.

Isn't this already the case?

The graphics card controls the refresh rate and can dynamically change it on the fly to keep the frames being rendered as fast as they can be sent.

So currently your refresh rate will be most likely either 60Hz, 120Hz, or 144Hz depending on screen. This is always the case independent of frame rate.

Under GSync the frame rate is the refresh rate, the frames are drawn as soon as they are sent to the screen.

So basically no more tearing, no more need for vsync.

I've not seen it in action but it does seem like a very good technology on paper, sadly NVidia seem determined to screw it up with their pricing.

Its one of the first to market, of course it's going to have a mark up - if anyone thinks freesync is going to be different then they are deluded.

It will drop in price significantly once it's more widely available, like every other product.
