AMD Catalyst 14.7 RC Driver for Windows available for download

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to let you know the Catalyst 14.7 Release Candidate Driver for Windows OS is available for download.

Note - This version of the driver includes the fix for the 60Hz flickering exhibited by the AOC U2868PQU panel on certain AMD Radeon graphics cards.

Please make sure to read the Known Issues and Feature Highlights sections to learn more about this driver and use the Issue Reporting Form to report any bugs – Thank you!

Thanks for the heads up. Does this fix the flickering issue with other 4K monitors such as the Asus one?

I downloaded and installed these last night but CCC is saying they're 14.6 RC.

Still no fix for the extra heat produced by drivers past the 14.4 Whql.

Did a test and using 14.7 drivers (14.6 would be the same) and the total system wattage use with the card slightly undervolted was 385w. That's using Crysis 3 in the most intensive level.

Same test using the 14.4 and in same level and place and fps the total system wattage was 355w.

So a difference of 30w between drivers would explain 5-6c hotter temps. I personally don't see major fps increase so whatever has been done it would be good for Amd to undo as it's not what I would call a nice added feature.

Hopefully this fixes the artifacts in State Of Decay and FM 2014. Think that 14.6 is the worst driver I have ever had for issues.

I find FM2014 runs faster with software rendering - there's no inconsequential fannying around with 3D effects in the user interface.

I have switched it to software rendering to stop the artifacts, haven't noticed anything different so will keep it like that for now.

Only works if you enable V-sync... so locked a 60fps :confused:

These do exactly as promised in the notes and have improved my Wildstar performance (not my in game performance as I'm old and a bit crap but FPS is higher)
