I'm very very close to buying this monitor but need some input from those who are using it.

YOUR BASKET
1 x LG Flatron 29UM65-P 29" WideScreen Super-Wide LED Monitor £269.99
Total : £269.99 (includes shipping : ).

I'll be using this for mainly gaming & photography with the occasional film.

Have you noticed any ghosting when gaming?
Back light bleed?
What's the colour reproduction like?
Issues with HDMI/DVI/DP?

I just need to make sure this will be 100% before I pull the plug, very excited if its as good as it looks :D

Settings
Here are some settings used by the monitor owners:

10-20% brightness is ideal (if necessary, you can go higher but I wouldn't recommend it, most definitely not higher than 50% anyway!)
Either use the cinema preset, if you find the image a bit too dark overall, you can increase the gamma via nvidia or AMD's control panel.

OR

Use custom preset with these settings:

contrast - 65
gamma - gamma 1
custom RGB values - R/50 G/50 B/51

However, every panel is different so what might work best for one might not work best for someone else.

Best site for manually calibrating:

Good calibration test images:

As for response time setting, either high or medium is best. With high setting I can see inverse ghosting so have just stuck with the default "medium" setting.

This is a great site for testing the response time settings out:

Nope not noticed any ghosting at all, monitor feels snappy/responsive for gaming

My first two had very bad back light bleed, 3rd one is a lot better, still some at the bottom left corner and a few other areas but in normal usage, it isn't that noticeable, only when you view a completely black screen.

Colours are superb even out of the box

HDMI shouldn't be used since it doesn't support any higher than 1920x1080 thus image is stretched. I use DVI-D, not had any issues.

I did a brief review covering more about the monitor, link in sig :)

Thanks for your reply and your review. Shame about the backlight bleed, not sure if its enough to put me off though.

Are you still using the supplied stand? Can you give me the measurements from the base of the stand to the bottom of the lower bezel? (make sense )

Yeah that and LG's service are really the only things that would put me of this monitor, thankfully ocuk's service is superb so if you do get a bad one, getting another or refund won't be a problem and if you are unlucky like mrk has been with his LG replacement/repair, you can request a refund if you haven't got anything back within 28 days.

Yup still using the stand, about:

10cm from the base of the stand to the bottom bezel
12cm from the base of the stand to where the screen on the bottom starts

Yup, height is pretty much perfect, maybe just 1cm higher for me and it would be spot on! Plan on wall mounting it eventually...

Nope it doesn't........ it looks AMAZING! :D

Photos really don't do the image quality/colours any justice at all, looks so much better in real life.

Here you go (crappy quality cause of low light :()

Measurements of my desk excluding the area where my pc tower sits:

120cm length and 54cm width

I was thinking more side by side, I think most of the type of monitor desk mounts that I was looking at allow for that sort of setup (if I did it that way I'd probably flip my w2363d upside down as it has a smaller bezel at the top as opposed to the bottom

I think you're over estimating how much desktop space you need with a 29". I'd suggest trying the 29" and then if you feel you really need the 23", get a wall moutable desk arm for the 23" only - unless you can find a decent dual mount.
