Does anyone remember Rollcage from back in the Playstation 1 days? The futuristic combat racer where you could drive upside down? I loved it. I think it was my second favourite PS game of all time - after Tekken - and probably my all time favourite racer.

Now a couple of the original devs are trying to get Kickstarter backing to make a spiritual successor (called GRIP since they don't own the IP). It looks great.

(Disclaimer: I used to work at ATD - who wrote the original Rollcage - so I know the guys developing this although I'm not involved myself)

It works out at like £10 for a digital copy and £16 to get early access into the beta. Yeah, I'm sold. High target to hit, but hoping they'll make it!

Remember indeed I have boxed copys of both rollcage 1 and 2 ;) i'll back this project I love arcade racing type games

Got some good hours out of the original, wonder how well it will do these days though.

If they can make it as fun as rocket league and keep the arcade feel then should be onto a winner.

Cool. This will be my third KS backed game after Satellite Reign and Shenmue III. I think their target is fairly high though... Hope it makes it. Rollcage was such a badass IP, didn't deserve to be overshadowed by Wipeout :(

The goal does seem higher at first glance since it's in Canadian Dollars (approx. $500,000), although that's still quite a high goal :p

Probably one of the better kickstarters I've seen; it actually looks like they have a fully working prototype already set up, not just a simple proof of concept.

The use of UE has me a bit worried. The list of UE powered racing games is hardly stellar... I know it can be modified to do almost anything though

It's an intensely reasonable sum for a game of that ambition. I doubt it'll even cover their development costs. But I wonder whether they should have set their sights lower and left more stuff for the stretch goals? Mind you, hopefully being a staff pick will help them get there.

I remember seeing this game, but never played it, probably because I was too busy playing Wipeout :(
