02 Refresh or Three?

I found Three to be excellent in general, just lacked a little in signal coverage at times. Never was bad, but once or twice struggled a little out in the countryside.
That said, their data connection was awesome - I had a 12 month SIM only deal from them, which was a great deal at the time, but moved to Full Monty SIM only with another great deal at the turn of this year. I will almost certainly head back to Three towards the end of the year, especially with the imminent arrival of 4G :p

Will they be giving 4g with unlimited data by any chance?!

My experience with Three's customer service has been very hit and miss. I've found that when it comes to general enquiries they're very good, but obviously very pushy to get a sale (and they occasionally lie) otherwise.

Can't really fault their service though. Moved back to Three yesterday after moving back to giffgaff beforehand, I got very tired of having full signal and no Internet connection whatsoever, regular call dropouts, billing issues, and reliability problems.

As far as I know, LTE is being added at no cost.

While their connection speeds aren't the best in my house (bit patchy, but can get up to 13Mbps in the right place), this isn't too shabby for a bus at a local train station:

I should note that not once have I had problems with signal on Three due to their network. This said, do check coverage in your area before buying, no matter the network.

That's a saved test, not one which was just ran. And you can see it was tested on mobile data because it says 'Cell' next to Network rather than WiFi.

Three on a 24 month contract with the prospect of free 4g (hopefully with unlimited data!?)

Or an 18 month contract with orange which is cheaper...

Or 02 refresh so I can get upgrades quicker... argh!

It really depends on where you are. O2 were awful for me when I lived down South, although even when I travelled elsewhere I was never impressed with their 3G speeds or reliability. Their 3G mast near where I worked was regularly out of service, and EDGE was hopeless and never worked so I'd often go weeks at a time with no mobile internet.

Switched to Three once I moved up here because I could barely get a reliable 2G signal on O2, now I get a solid 3G one almost everywhere.
