09/06/2008 - 25/08/2011 over!

Congrats :) Can't imagine how difficult it was to have to relearn all of that.

thanks all for the positive feedback. :)

it was difficult - i broken pretty much every bone in my left leg (tibia/fibia/femur/think part of hip/ankle) and had pins fitted (also called a nail when it essentially replaces your bone - femur in this case) and my knee rebuilt so balance was shot.

spent hours on end every day walking from my bed to the next bed 6ft away and turning around to come back. i fell once but was near the bed so fell on it - i got a telling off for pushing myself too far from that. didn't have any plates fitted in my leg - just both arms.

thanks again though.... trying not to spam the forum so this is the one and only thread lol.

Great to hear you are fully recovered,

Now... do you remember about that £5000 you owe me :p

Can you pay back the £1500 you owe me now? ;)

To the back of the line....

i should have a bugatti veyron that i've misplaced the amount of money i owe...

as i said in hospital - "i don't remember your name but i know your face so either you were nice to me or you owe me money - which is it?" :D

Did you lose memory to or something? All jokes aside about money oweage!

all of the first 6 months of 2008 and a few of 2007.

The problem was i couldn't remember my job (started November 2007) and couldn't remember owning the motorbike i had the crash on (bought it in about December 2007). Also embarrassingly enough i couldn't remember my last czech girlfriend... i knew i could speak bits of Czech but had no idea why i knew that....

The bike - i have pictures of me on it. :)
The job - i went back to work and when asked "how do i change this file" i reply say "don't know - why?" to which their response was "you created the file...." oh.... :o

well done mate, :) i bet there were times when you never thought you would get to where you are now, but you have :)

Hurrrar!!! Congratulations :)

You sound in better shape now than I am, don't think I could cycle 23 miles without feeling pretty grim at the end (from just being unfit).

Is there an original thread in the depths of OcUK somewhere?
Looks like I have some catching up to do if so.
Didn't even know you had been in an accident. :o

Congrats on making a full recovery anyway!

3 years ago i couldn't have cycled 5 miles... let alone the 30 at a time i often do.... :)

there have never really been any of those times as at the end of the day - i am still alive, have all my faculties, have all my limbs so i am FAR more lucky than some unfortunate souls! I still go out for a meal every few months with a couple of those unfortunate souls and the stuff they go through made mine seem like a scratch!

Will never have a full recovery as left leg slightly turns inward (rebuilt knee) but allos me to run/walk/cycle and my left little finger has permanent nerve damage (look well posh when drinking tea as i have a permanent pinky showing now :D) and i lost about 65degrees movement in my right arm.

But hey, i still have the arm so i count myself extremely fortunate. :)

probably an original thread but god knows where.... i have this (increibly vain i admit but this is the easiest way to show what i'm waffling about lol) and it's the briefest and most detailed explanation of events:

But hey - over 3 years and it's over. :) Little bit worse for wear but hey "**** happens." :)
