'0xc00000e9' Installing Windows New PC Problem

Hello, recently I replaced my motherboard, CPU and RAM. Added a new Samsung Evo 250GB SSD as well, next to my current 500GB WD Caviar Black.

So, when I try to boot my new system, at first try I get a blue screen (because of the incorrect drivers on my old HDD I'm assuming?). I changed the boot order to CD/DVD> SSD > HDD for a new installation of Windows 7. This all goes through until I get the message of '0xc00000e9'. Tried going for the install with just the HDD connected or SSD, but both ways the same happen.

What can I do? Everything is recognized by the BIOS and for the boot devices it reads everything as well.

Thanks in advance

Tried both, same result unfortunately. It's on a GA-Z97P-D3 motherboard if that helps. Memory is 2x4GB HyperX Fury 1866 with i5 4690K.

0xc00000e9 is windows failing to read correct data from a drive usually caused by either the drive or the controller.

if both your drives are new try installing on to both of them one by one and only having one connected. But before you do this clear your cmos to ensure nothing is odd there.

if both drives fail then i would bet on a mobo problem. although I would also run memtest86 from a USB stick just to be 100% sure its not RAM.

If you installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 on the SSD, you should have had the 500GB disconnected as sometimes it can put the 100MB partition on that and can mess up installs. Disconnect the 500 and do a fresh install on the SSD only, ensure SATA mode in BIOS is on AHCI

Just the SSD is new, the HDD I had already used before and still has the old files, drivers and OS on it. Tried doing them one by one and one connected, didn't work sadly... I tried running memtest86 from a USB with the USB bootable, but all I got was a message saying 'No operating system' Did the Windows Memory diagnostics tool though, no problems were detected.

I could never get to installing anything on the SSD. SATA mode already was on AHCI, should I change that? Also, should the integrated SATA controller be enabled or disabled?

Sounds very similar to a recent issue I had, it turned out that the board didn't like my low CAS memory when using all 4 slots, so tried just 2 and ran the memory at default 1600mhz (with slacker timings) and it then allowed the install without any issues or blue screens.

Maybe list your full spec for us as well.

And have you updated the motherboard to the latest BIOS?

(Edit: I'd look at your memtest install method, as you shouldn't need an OS to run it?)
