Short and Sweet.

The best Gaming System you can spec me for around the £1.2k mark. Budget is negotiable by about £100-200 MAX if I really think its required.

This is part of an upgrade I plan to do and some of the budget will come from selling my old PC.

Thanks all.

EDIT: I have a preference to go Intel/nVIDIA on my new build, However it's not mandatory.

All I need is the tower, nothing external. I already have an OS and yes I could re-use my current 1TB & 500GB/s. I can salvage them out :P

case really depends on ur choice what u like.

sorry didnt see u edit that u'd rather go nvid
Edit: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-147-EA&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=1812 that would be a gd nvid card

if it really has to be NV

a little over priced but good solid psu and 2.5gb vram as 1.2gb will not cut it in a couple of year i know this from having 3x470 which has the same raw power as two over clocked 580's but are crippled by vram ......

no ssd but that can be added later over all a solid base and should have great gpu performance for a few yars to come

2 570s would do your gaming rig proud. If you wanted a single card then the best is the 7970, why would you even think about using a 580 considering the cost of that card vs 7970 which is the better card by far. If you can afford the best then that's what you should get. Thats if there are not features you want that the 7970 does not support.

Edit:
The 6990 and 590 are both options and both faster then the 7970, what resolution to you game at? Are they worth the cost over an overclocked 7970, not a chance, but if you want the best... .

How big would the SSD need to be?

I would go for an i5 2500k that is the best cpu out for gaming right now . Also would u prefer a dual gpu setup or single?

Does the tower have to be all bells and whistle or would u prefer one for cancelling out noise as much as possible?

how many of these mini bars are floating about? ;)

and no to 6990/gtx590 the 7970 is not far of the pace of either and is cheaper

Lol that the silver case not my favorite white one - look closely Mr Magoo

Here is a link to illustrate that card I recommended (the OP favors Nvidia) thrashing what is effectively a gtx580.

I dare say a lot less hassle than SLI too.

I rest my case, now where is that minibar
