1.2L Puretech/wet belt issues

I had a 1.2l as well. The auto SW Version and a puretech.

For a little engine, you got enough torque out of it and I enjoyed it being relatively nippy.

I too had a wet belt issue. It was about 3 years ago now so I can’t recall details but I had all the same bother on a motorway journey.

Luckily, my 3rd party warranty covered the whole repair and I enjoyed driving it until I traded it in.

I was more annoyed with the laggy Bluetooth and lack of airplay with my car though honestly.

I didn’t know the engine had such a rep like the ford ecoboost. I guess I should have kno where it was a 3 cyclinder engine capable of 130hp

Just for everyone's peace of mind, the PSA 1.2 3 cylinder 'wetbelt' engines are quicker to replace timing belts than the ford equivalent. And they are a non interference engine which means if the belt fails the valves will not hit the pistons.

Good to know.
Funnily enough, I was watching a wetbelt replacement video on YouTube yesterday for a 1.0 Ecoboost. They reckoned it took them 4 hours to do it properly with the oil pump belt and waterpump at the same time. The crazy thing is that they said it's only 1 hour less than a Jaguar Ingenium chain job. You can understand why 1.0 Ecoboost cars are worth buttons.
