1.5TB 'actual' space

Am I right in saying you get around 1397GB from a 1.5TB drive?

As a general rule expect a tiny fraction over 93% of a drives stated capacity after formatting it.

Please stop perpetuating this "after formatting" rubbish. The difference is down to the way MB/GB/TB are calculated and has nothing whatsoever to do with "formatting".

For any of you wondering they sell 1.5TB drives (and all other drives) as 1,500,000,000,000B rather than 1,649,300,000,000B so it comes out at 1397GB rather than 1536GB
