Hi,

Looking at specing a £1,600 PC. Will be used for gaming and lots of HD video editing.

Was hoping for 12GB RAM and perhaps an i7 930.

Don't need a monitor, keyboard, mouse and speakers.

But need an OS and any extras such as fans etc.

This will be my first ever build, must say I'm pretty nervous but also exicited about getting started :)

Any help in specing will really help.

Thanks.

Hows that? Of course, you could probably spend about £1000 and not notice the performance difference...

The important question is what video editing programs you use?

If any of them use CUDA then speccing a ati card is dumb with fermi due out in around 11 days time, not only will it be good for games, but it will monster any supported programs to rapidly increase editing performance.

Hi

You could always look into one of our workstations that we have on the site, they come with RAID 1 drives and 12GB of memory as standard, we can always custom configure you one too if its not quite what your after.

If you interested let me know and i can always email you some more information

Phil

The only reason I put a 1000W PSU was in case I ever went down the crossfire route.

Even then you still be able to drop the psu, I have the i7 @ 4ghz with crossfire 5850 and full load with Prime & 3d WIN MARK 2006 I pull 430w from the mains, thought it was 480w but that includes the monitor.
