1.8 Focus Zetec as first car?

im looking to get a focus as my first car as its such a stunning car and ive heard such great things about it looking on autotrader at my budget (3.5k) i find more 1.8's that 1.6's and some 1.8s are actually cheaper etc is this overkill for a first car, opinions?

Definately a good choice for a first car in my opinion. However do not go looking at the car with a view to buy, this will cloud your judgement when it comes to possible problems with the car.

As hard as it sounds, try not to be excited

yea i understand that, my dads pretty car savvy so he will give it a check out and its a garage with good reputation apparantly so fingers crossed

Great cars, i'm going for the 3dr 1.6 zetec myself. The 1.8 is a killer on insurance for me...

im going on the named driver jobby and we got a quote of 900 pounds, im sure if you look around you can get a good deal

Yeah I could probably get a decent quote as a named driver but i'd rather build up my own no claims

direct line i will be building up my own no claims , also how is the mpg on this car it wont cripple a student will it

Better choice IMO

Named driver route is also most likely not valid cover unless you tell the insurance company that you will be driving it most, and by doing that they will adjust the quote accordingly.

Might as well have it in your own name.

Thats not a bad quote (assuming you are 17). You could probably get it cheaper a) by ringing them, and b) by shopping around.
