Housing benefit for the rest. Officially it should be like £55 a week i think. But i just pay i think a tenner or somit a fortnight but i have payed £15 now and then just to be sure.

Its a gentoo flat.

And its not elegant but its not that bad to be honest

well yeh I may have exaggerated, I knew a few people with rent at that sort of rate and the places weren't too bad... just bit further out the city etc

£60 pp/pw was the "standard" really

Is water a flat rate for the year, or do you have water meters in England?

Up in Scotland, we don't pay to a water company. We just pay for water in our council tax charges. For my pad, I pay £142.73 for water and £163.38 for waste water a year. Flat rate.
Also, if you're a student I assume the charge still applies? Up here, if you are a student then you don't pay it.

Some places have had water meters installed but most have a flat rate.
Mine is about £225 a year in Sheffield.

Also
Gas - £41/month
Elec - £33/month

That's for a 2 bed house.

I miss being at Uni! I'm looking at approx £575pm for a 1 bed place, in either Stratford or Leamington.

So at any one time, there is hardly anything using much electricity.

I was paying £25 a month with EDF but i had overpaid so they refunded me. Now with measured usage i'm with npower (were the cheapest for me) and pay between £12 and £20 a month.

All per month, no gas being a flat in a block*.

*nice private though, not a chavy council block.

Water £32/month (Anglia water)

That's for daily shower/cooking, laptop 24/7, 10hrs main pc a day/18 a day at the weekend and washing machine, fridge and economy7 heating ect.

That's pretty steep, although I don't have a PC and my laptop is on for a few hours a day so I hope I don't end up paying that!

I removed my economy 7 storage heaters when I moved in, a couple of small panel heaters on 15c thermostats have cut masses from my leccy bill.

What about water out? Or is that included in the £15? And Gas? Or do you just use electric?
