I have 5 Seagate barracuda 200gb SATA drives in a RAID 3 config and one of them has died, Would i be able to use a 200gb SATA western digital drive in it's place?

Also does anyone know how to know which drive is drive 0 on the XFX Revo64 RAID 3 card.

Thanks

You should be able to replace a drive with the same size drive, but same model is obviously preferred to prevent any future wierdness.

Drive 0 is the drive connected to the first port.... Look in your manual for which one that is, or it might be marked on the card itself.

Obviously check everything for yourself before you follow any of my advice.

I think drive 0 will be one of the data drives, not the parity drive. 200GByte drives from different manufacturers have different sizes, so if the replacement is smaller you may loose some space on the array, since the size of the smallest striped drive sets the total size. If the 'odd' drive is slightly bigger then no problem, it will just loose those extra few sectors.
