Whilst driving home from kent yesterday I noticed that the rear of a couple of 1 series was slightly different to others. Did they make some slight cosmetic changes when they started brought out the ED versions?

Or am I talking tosh?

Whenever I see these coming up behind me I always think the front looks nice. Once I see the back, however, I want to vomit :(

Sorry.. </derail>

Ah that makes sence then. Oh well, I suppose its a good thing I still have lots to do on the house before I can think about changing the car. That way, secondhand facelifted versions should start being more available.

I must be weird. I quite like the 1-series! With regards to the coupe however. The back is fine, the front is fine. The side profile just seems... wrong. It looks really out of proportion.

There also different rear bumper arrangements. Not sure whether its because of sport, se etc, but there are a few 07/08 1 series in our car park and then have different rear bumpers, some with mesh grilles etc, which look like original parts as opposed to aftermarket. Just a shame the basic car is so fugly.

We have a 120d Coupe, well specced with 18" rims. Looks, drives and handles superbly. It's the perfect small car.

Wow, really? Suprising. Have you got any pics? I love the 1 Series Coupe from every angle but the front - really quirky car.

On the hatchback, I prefer the SE rear bumper to the M Sport. Not sure what BMW were thinking when they designed the M Sport model. It's like they started to design the rear bumper, couldn't be bothered to finish it and then thought "Oh crap...where can we put the number plate" as shown here:

Dark grey plastic middle = EPIC FAIL!

The rear bumper is a similar style to all BMW Sport bumpers - ie, with the black diffuser section. They all have it, even mine. Problem with the 1er though is there is nowhere else for the plate.
