Hi all, just finished putting my loop back together after I delidded my 3770k. Temps went down by 10-1 depending on core but now, they all differ by a huge amount compared to before.
Core 0:50
Core 1:55
Core 2:61
Core 3:62

This is while running p95 or ibt.
Before my cores differed by 3-5c.

Should I be worried/bothered?
Remount on die/ihs necessary?
Don't want to take the loop down again because of it.

when you delidded did you scrape all the black adhesive off the cpu pcb and the underside of the ihs?

that helps it to sit lower on the die

Yeah I did wazaa.
Just not sure if I applied enough or too much. Also the clp on the underside of the ihs wasn't the most even in terms of the clp area.

when u applied clp, did u apply it on both sides ? the chip and the bottom of ihs ? Its crutial to apply it on both sides!

also when u say u cleaned the black glue, did u do it rly well? The glue is rly thin in general(like 0.05mm or so) so u need to be precise.

Yeah I applied on both side.
Yup, cleaned the glue off with a card.
The glue was thicker than 0.05mm if I can recall.

the ihs isn't flat enough then, did you use hammer method? it could have warped it slightly

I see a core variation on mine but not that big

You could try lapping the ihs to level it out a bit.

Hmm I didn't think about the flatness of the ihs.
I used the vice only method.

I think I'll leave it for now and check it when I do a loop maintainance in 6 months time.
Thanks

Wow, I must've done something really bad.
Idle temps has risen up to 40-50C :o
And load temps is back to normal, if not worse before delid..

i had the same issue with the cores having 10c across the cores when i delidded. temps shoot up to 80-90c straight away. I didn't clean off all the glue but now i have and applied a thicker layer of thermal paste silver 5 stuff between the core and the metal lid. also I tightened all the heatsink screws.

now the temps are normal i think for air cooling

30-35c idle with prime95 @ 90c with 1.2Vcore after 15-20min

I forgot, did you go in the bios and enable c3/c6 and c1e? if left on auto it wont fully throttle in voltages at idle

I had to do it recently,it worked fine on auto before but not now

It was left on auto but even after enabling, this is what I get :o#

That's on startup....
The core speed does throttle down, it mustve been just taken at the wrong time.

Yeah me too.
Load temps highest was 60 the day I put together the loop again.
As the days passed, it just seems to have gotten worse.
