10.5.8 any problems?

On the other hand, I've always just used Software Update and never had any problems. I started grabbing the Combo from 10.5.6 just ..because..! No reason really.

My MobileMe iDisk icon has changed colour!

165MB here, about 4 minutes of downloading. Everything working as before, can't see any changes so I guess that's a good thing?

Well that was fun.
Combo update, installed OK. The system hung on restart, even after leaving it for ten minutes it never actually rebooted the computer.

So I did a hard reset, booted it up (it took ages to boot), repaired permissions, restarted again and reapplied the combo update.

Same thing, it didn't get as far as restarting.

So I did the hard reset, it rebooted, it rebooted itself again and now it's all up and running. I'm off to bed.

That doesn't sound good....perhaps i shall wait...

Mine was fine.

Just leave it to do its thing, it needs to reboot once and this happened on both my 10.5.6 machines when updating to 10.5.7.

2007 MBP and 2009 MP all running fine here.

Except... The bloody mouse pause using DVI is still here.

How can Apple take so long to fix this!?

Edit: Im using it over VGA with a DVI adapter and it works, just not as sharp :(

I had the same problem with the mouse Lag but plugging the Nano Receiver to the other USB port solved the problem for me.

I left it at the restart stage for ten minutes or so each time. Not long enough?

Nah, it hangs.

Just force shutdown and it sorts itself out.

That one caught me out and I submitted a bug report to apple but I guess they didn't find out what was causing it.

Strange because both my MBP and MP did the stall after the first restart to 10.5.7 but this time round they both rebooted twice and was at the desktop within 5 mins for the MP and 10 mins for MBP.

I have to say my GOD the Mac Pro is fast. I gave the MBP a 5 min head start and the MP was back at the desktop done before it had even done the 2nd restart!

Holy crap, i only updated like 1G of stuff on Monday...there's like 500mb tonight?

Yeah a new Mac will need a few updates! Think yourself lucky you don't have the Pro Apps installed!

That doesn't sound good....perhaps i shall wait...

Just do it! I've never had a problem with OS upgrades via System Update (*touches wood*) although I haven't done 10.5.8 yet because I am at work and the Mac is at home. :)

I am still sorting out my iTunes/Ipod/iPhone syncing thing/playlist/Album Art, when that's done and settled then i'll do the update. :)
