10.5.8 any problems?

Right got a little random bug from the update, booted into vista on my macbook pro and i no longer can see the built in mic after applying 10.5.8

Not a big issue as the mic didnt work in vista anyway (have a usb head set to get round this), but its a bit strange when civ was telling me "incorrect sound input device selected" when there are no options to begin with.

I am still sorting out my iTunes/Ipod/iPhone syncing thing/playlist/Album Art, when that's done and settled then i'll do the update. :)

Talking of things taking a while...

I did a re-install and restore via Time Machine backup over 802.11N. Never again. Took all bloody night.

Next time I'll wire it in to the gigabit network on the Airport Extreme!

I copy my music across using a usb stick, 12G at a time.

No problems here, set it downloading, waited until the 'you need to reboot' box popped up, clicked ok and went for a smoke. I came back and my desktop was there waiting for me. Jobs a good 'un.

I love macs me :)

What you do in Mac OS X shouldn't do anything to Windows. Unless of course it's a firmware update for something...

Thinking of downloading the combo update and doing a fresh flat format of this Air...

You guys really should go SSD, its the future! :D

Same reason I won't get an iPod Touch...

...the capacity doesn't warrant the price!

Well and the capacities don't go up to what I need :p

Didnt think about it until it happened again last night, my mac pro doesn't like going to seelp. Sometimes it wakes sometimes I have to restart it, I'm sure this has only happened since the update, really annoying!

Ive no issues with Sleep on either of my Macpros, the 8-core did hang at first reboot after patch, whereas the 4-core and MBP didnt... Otherwise ive not noticed any bugs or improvements.

Ah ok, might have been me doing something in windows without realising. (or there's a slight firmware change that i didnt notice)

I got a problem with airport. The wireless card drops in power dramatically when it is not plugged into the mains:

http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2106968&start=0&tstart=0

I set a permanent ping and pulled out my power lead and the pings increased very dramatically and I get dropouts from my wireless and also at my mates place. Mostly use it from the mains anyway so will wait for the inevitable fix rather than the workaround suggested involving restoring old 10.5.7 files from Time machine.
