Just wondering if it's worth downloading the new drivers. am running 5870 cf on
Driver Packaging Version 8.723-100406a-098769C-ATI
Catalyst™ Version 10.4
Provider ATI Technologies Inc.
2D Driver Version 8.01.01.1016
2D Driver File Path /REGISTRY/MACHINE/SYSTEM/ControlSet001/Control/CLASS/{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}/0002
Direct3D Version 8.14.10.0743
OpenGL Version 6.14.10.9756
Catalyst™ Control Center Version 2010.0406.2133.36843

Have no problems in any games.

stick to 10.4, im on cf 5870's and ive suffered trying later drivers, im on Driver Packaging Version 8.74-100406a-098262E-ATI (think its 10.4b), gives fast BFbc2 loading but its the first driver that gives 400/1250 2d clock speeds so i disable overdrive to get 157/300 2d idle clocks back

I had trouble with 10.7 with a single 5850. Texture tearing and the core temps were up to 10 degrees hotter than they report with 10.5 which is what im using now.

i am using a 5870 on 10.7 and i have not experienced any issues with the drivers cannot say from where CF is concerned but for myself they seem fine to me :).

I've had some random crashes while playing Starcraft 2 when using 10.7 and crossfire 4870's, but I'm convinced its the game rather than the drivers, as it's flawless in everything else.

the 10.4a's fixed all that though

fixed all what? BFbc2 map load times? 10.4a (Driver Packaging Version 8.723-100406a-098769C-ATI) gave slow map load in BFbc2, i know i used them for a couple of weeks before using 10.4b (Driver Packaging Version 8.74-100406a-098262E-ATI) which loaded maps in seconds, maybe after releasing 10.4a they might have made a profile that allows faster loading times but if they did it skipped me by

isn't there any modified drivers out there i can remember the last time i had an ati card (9700pro) there being 2 or 3 different one's out there, i'm running the 10.6 drivers with no real problems here but some games are a little lower than i would expect given my spec (running 5850 now not GTX260 (must get round to changing sig :P) like GTA4 feels sluggish on max settings (max settings ie not max on the sliders) maybe my system just can't run that game?? i've had to turn down the shadow setting to get it running ok, i'm gaming @ 1080p btw

i've been waiting for a conclusive answer as to what drivers work well before changing i will be reformatting and reinstalling my system soon so may try something different

These drivers reek of fail I play Borderlands a lot and the patch notes mentioned some performance gains so I thought great will try these.

what a mistake if I had read to the bottom of the patch notes I would noticed the line about these drivers now causing Borderlands to BSOD.

Ati gives with one hand and bitch slaps you with the other like always with there drivers.

They need to learn the best hardware in the world is no good if you use trained chimps to program the drivers.

Got a black screen on GTR2 twice, one of them was during our league feature race where I was lying second at the time, was very upset about it.
this was on a 4870x2
