10 hip hop rap albums must own

my top ten, in no particular order

Tribe Called Quest - Low End Theory
Cypress Hill - Cypress Hill
Nas - Illmatic
Wu - 36 Chambers
Ice-T - OG
Busta Rhymes - When Disaster Strikes
Gangstarr - Daily Operation
Rakim - Paid in Full
BDP - Edutainment
Public Enemy - Fear of a Black Planet

It's from a movie, called Coffee and Cigarettes. The scene's called Delerium. http://youtube.com/watch?v=H6EZkIaJcCI*contains swearing*.

It's got a pretty good cast and all the scenes are ace. The Alfred Molina and Steve Coogan one is priceless, shame it isn't on youtube.

cool thanks, will try and get the dvd

theres a couple dave chappelle sketches with rza/gza in em, funny as **** :D

I've seen what I can of the chappelle stuff on youtube already but yeah theyre ace in that too.

Wu Tang Clan - 36 Chambers
Public Enemy - It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back
Dead Prez - Let's Get Free
NWA - Straight Outta Compton
Nas - Illimatic
Dr. Dre - The Chronic
Fugees - The Score
Beastie Boys - Check Your Head
OutKast - Stankonia
DMX - It's Dark and Hell Is Hot

Bit too much gangsta stuff in here. Of course there are some outstanding gangsta rap albums, but not everybody who listens to hip hop is 13 years old ;)

Stuff like Ready To Die, Illmatic, Low End Theory and the Blueprint LP pick themselves. But I'd also consider stuff by Atmosphere, Sage Francis, Aesop Rock, Jedi Mind Tricks, The Beatnuts, Ill Bill/Necro/Non Phixion, Lupe Fiasco, etc. as being right up there.
